Onto cotton paper, I used 'matt medium' to transfer photographs. I then added chalk pastel into the sunset for a soft form of light. I melted crayon onto the dripping tips of the trees and flowers to show painful tears. In the writing it describes how a smile could in no way reflect my inner monolog. The division of the night sky with the warm sunset metaphorically display the difference between what everyone else sees on a daily basis. Roots that are hardly planted show the shaky foundation of which sanity can be found in.

Pumpkin Head
I used white clay to sculpt this piece. I fired it many times using the kiln.
I glazed it with glass based glaze then added glass into the bottom of the pumpkin. I then fired it one last time and cemented the glass into its final position.

Skin in Film
social issue: anorexia.
Anoressica proves youth are taught to believe their bodies are imperfect. Tension and desire flow through the composition to prove its point: society forces us to judge ourselves. We critique ourselves intensely noting every diminutive flaw. The soft skin of the androgynous form represents innocents of the youth trying to make it through humanity’s inhuman evaluations of the human form.

Mandala:
Using ink pens, I created this with patterns that do not repeat. Every square is different and unique.
